Licences - Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Image icon - Taxi Basildon Council must ensure all hackney carriage and private hire licence holders are 'fit and proper' persons and vehicles are accessible and safe. Licence - Credit If a business offers credit or lends money to consumers, or allows customers time to pay for goods and services it must be licensed with the Consumer Credit Licensing Bureau of the Office of Fair Trading under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Consent for Hypnotism Exhibition Image icon - Information Any exhibition, demonstration or performance of hypnotism (as defined in the Hypnotism Act 1952) requires the express written consent of the Council as licensing authority.
