The Land Charges office investigates whether there are any legal restrictions, which may affect the property or land in question and will bring together all the information in the form of a Local Authority search, which collects information from various departments throughout the Council, including Planning, Building Control, Environmental Health and Essex County Council Highways.
Details that are provided include previous planning history and notices or restrictions imposed on the land and property, nearby highway proposals and whether there are any planning constraints (i.e. is the property in a Conservation Area), which might affect any future development.
We are still happy to accept search requests via email providing the correct forms are attached and a location plan quoting the web payment reference.
