Basildon Council offers a one-stop service to assist and encourage film and TV production companies that want to film in the borough.

Film office support charges for 2023/24
We will give prices on application for filming that involves a very large crew of more than 50 people.
Small crew of 1 to 5 people
Administration Fee for processing licence applications: £50
Fee for street filming - one off: £50
Location fee - full day: £500 to £700 - Our full day rates may be negotiable if filming is to take place over several days.
Location fee - half day: £350
Location fee - per hour: £125
Medium crew 6 to 15 people
Administration Fee for processing licence applications: £100
Fee for street filming - one off: £125
Location fee - full day: £800 to £1000 - Our full day rates may be negotiable if filming is to take place over several days.
Location fee - half day: £450
Location fee - per hour: £150
Large crew 16 to 50 people
Administration Fee for processing licence applications: £150
Fee for street filming - one off: £175
Location fee - full day: £1100 to £2000 - Our full day rates may be negotiable if filming is to take place over several days.
Location fee - half day: £750
Location fee - per hour: £200
Filming on public roads and paths
If you wish to film on public and/or paths, or if your filming may affect them, you need to contact Essex County Council.
Basildon is situated on the north bank of the River Thames immediately to the east of London. We're easy to get to and we have great transport connections, and we are also outside of the London congestion charge zone.
Whichever way you prefer to travel, getting here is simple. You can get here:
by road - well connected via the A13, A127 and the M25 (just 10km away)
by rail - just 35 minutes from central London
