In the news: Cost of living support hub launched

A new digital hub for resources to support with the cost of living has been launched on Basildon Council's website to give residents greater access to help and advice during challenging times.

As the cost of fuel, energy, food and other essentials continues to rise, many of us may start to feel under pressure. People struggling with money, energy debt or the cost of essential services, are not alone. It's important to know that this support is available and we are here to help.

Basildon Council has pulled together information and resources from across the borough, including ways to save money, support with wellbeing and tips to be more energy efficient, all in a central location on the council website.

There are a series of resources and tips available to help people save money this winter, as well as information on other services and organisations providing support. Services include assistance with food and essentials, wellbeing, work, different ways to go green and save money, in addition to activities and places to go. These resources are available for everyone and can offer support for a variety of needs.

Councillor Andrew Baggott, Leader of Basildon Council said "We understand the pressures people are currently facing in this unprecedented time. These resources are available from organisations and services across the borough to help as many people get the support they need.

"Now more than ever it is important to seek help when you need it and we want everyone to feel they can reach out to these services, whether its support from food banks, warm places, mental health support or work support."
