In the news: Basildon event for The Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III
Basildon's event for The Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III will be taking place this Sunday after the tragic passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
The service will feature the Reading of the Accession from The Mayor of Basildon, Cllr Luke MacKenzie, who will be joined by the Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Simon Lister, alongside other local dignitaries.
The short service is open to the public and will be taking place in St Martin's Square at 1.30pm - all residents are welcome to attend.
