Grants towards venue rental costs available to older people's community groups in the Basildon Borough.

Please note that the provision of voluntary and community grant funding is not a statutory Council duty. Grant funding has only been made available at the discretion of Basildon Council.

Please also be mindful that we may receive more applications than we can provide funding for. If this is the case then we may only be able to provide a part of the funding you have applied for, or we may not be able to provide any funding at all, even if your application meets all of the criteria. This applies to all grants.

This fund is open for applications from Monday 10 August 2020.

Conditions and eligibility criteria

  • Only available to older person's community groups based in the Basildon Borough.
  • Applications are assessed against pre-set criteria that includes numbers of members, frequency of meetings and level of bank balance.
  • Funding is available to put towards the cost of renting premises for regular meetings.
  • Not available for social evenings or other events.
  • Awards are made towards annual venue rental/hire costs only.
  • The maximum that can be awarded is £500.
