Individual sportsmen and women and sports groups can apply for a sports development grant through Basildon Council's Sports Development Grant Scheme.

If you or your organisation think you may be eligible for a sports development grant then do not hesitate to apply.
Grant applications which demonstrate that the funding will be put towards helping increase participation in a sport or physical activity are looked upon favourably. This is especially so when such funding is intended to help those who may otherwise currently face barriers to participation in their chosen sport or physical activity.
For example, successful applicants have included 'The Badminton Academy', who received a grant to help set up a special needs and disabled badminton club at Eversley Leisure Centre.
Other successful applicants have included a talented gymnast and an archer.
