Pillar 4: Our Supply Chain Promise - Supporting Community Wealth Building

We will support local businesses, tradespeople and community initiatives by taking account of the social and economic impacts of commissioning and contracting locally. We will keep local businesses informed of procurement proposals for them to bid for work - feedback will be given to develop skills and training for local businesses. 

• Support local supply chains by sourcing materials and services from businesses within Basildon. 

• Collaborate with the Council to deliver meaningful 'Meet the Buyer' events to connect with local suppliers and contractors. 

• Prioritising developments that enhance public services, such as new schools, GP surgeries, and community centres, rather than purely commercial projects.
