In the news: Nominations open for the 2023 Basildon Borough Volunteer Awards

Nominations for the 2023 Basildon Borough Volunteer Awards are now open.

The awards are to recognise the achievements and contributions that volunteers have given across the borough.

There are eight different categories that individuals can be nominated for, including Community Star, Inspirational Role Model, and Young Volunteer of the Year.

Cabinet Member for Communities, Councillor Terri Sargent, said: "It's so important our borough's volunteers get recognition for the valuable support they provide to the community. This is our opportunity to nominate those hard-working individuals.

"I'm looking forward to meeting all of our special nominees at the awards ceremony in February."
