In the news: Seven brand new council homes for Basildon residents in Dry Street

Works have been complete on seven brand new homes in Dry Street, Basildon, exclusively for residents on the council's housing register.

The homes have been delivered in a partnership between Sempra Homes and Stonebond, consisting of two one-bed flats, four two-bed houses, and one three-bed house.

Each home, including the one bedroom flats, has a spacious private garden and as well as parking spaces provided. They are all built to national space standards with a modern, high-quality finish.

All seven tenants have been given the keys ready to move into their brand-new homes.

Member Director of Sempra Homes, Cllr Jeff Henry, said: "These new homes really are impressive - inside they're especially spacious and have so much light coming into each property.

"Congratulations to the lucky tenants moving in - I'm sure you'll love living in what are brilliant homes in a fantastic location.

Cabinet Member for Housing and Estate Renewal, Cllr Andrew Schrader added, "The Dry Street development has created a new, friendly community in scenic and peaceful surroundings.

"These latest homes are a great addition to the site - and I'm delighted that we've been able to deliver more much needed council housing of such a high standard, for families of different sizes.

Manager of Sempra Homes, Melanie Keys, added: "I'm delighted to deliver the final phase of this Dry Street development to give seven sets of residents the keys to brand new and beautifully finished, safe and secure homes.

"The residents have already started moving in and the feedback so far has been how overjoyed they are with their new homes and new starts."
