In the news: Works complete on thirty stylish new homes for borough residents

Thirty new homes prioritised for purchase by borough residents are coming to Billericay after the completion of Sempra Homes' latest development at Monarch Place.

The council's house building company has completed on the 30 stylish one and two bed apartments, which are all available on a shared ownership basis. The development provides parking for residents and visitors, and all the homes exceed national space standards and have achieved Secure by Design Gold Standard.

The kitchens in each home come fully equipped with integrated appliances, and have flooring provided throughout with wooden style laminate flooring in the living areas and hallway, homely carpet in the bedroom(s), and high-quality tiling in the bathroom and cloak room.

The development was visited in recent days by Councillor Jeff Henry, alongside Sempra and Basildon Council officers for a tour to mark its completion.

Cllr Jeff Henry, Non-Executive Director of Sempra Homes, said: "We are committed to providing more much-needed homes for local people.

"These stunning new homes make use of what was previously a derelict site, to deliver 30 1 and 2 bed homes all available for shared ownership with priority to borough residents.

"The aim of Sempra Homes is to build high-quality and affordable homes for our residents, and demonstrably at this Monarch Place development, we are delivering."

Melanie Keys, Manager of Sempra Homes, added: "This new scheme at Monarch Place is one that we're so proud of. The homes are all really bright and the finish contemporary and modern - being attractive both in the build's external appearance as well as inside each property.

"The homes are priority to purchase for borough residents, workers from the emergency services and teachers from Basildon school and colleges, which will help to support the recruitment and retention of vital services in our borough and help our own to get a foot on the property ladder.

"So if you're looking for a new spacious home with a really fresh feel, have a look on the Sempra Homes website where you can even take a virtual tour, and one of these may well be the home for you."
