Local authorities are able to support small businesses with additional government funding. If your business receives small business rate relief (SBRR), rural rate relief (RRR) and tapered relief.

Applications for a  COVID-19 - Small Business Grant have now closed.

Applications closed at midnight on 28th August 2020 following a Central Government announcement that nationwide, 92% of eligible businesses have now received COVID-19 business support funding.

What help is being provided? 

The cash grant provides a one-off grant of £10, 000 to eligible businesses, to help with ongoing business costs.  Applications for the Small Business Grant will close on midnight 28th August 2020.

Am I eligible?

You will be eligible if:

1. Your business is based in England* AND

2. You are a small business and already receive SBRR AND

3. You are a business that occupies a property

Are there exclusions to the Small Business Grant Fund? 

If your business meets any of the following conditions - you are not eligible for this grant. 

  1. Properties occupied for personal uses. Examples of where there may be personal use include private stables and loose boxes, beach huts and moorings, storage.
  2. Car parks and parking spaces
  3. Businesses, from 11 March, were in liquidation or dissolved
  4. Businesses that are not ratepayers
