Local residents are being urged not to lose their voice on matters that affect them by making sure they are registered to vote during National Democracy Week (14-20 October).

On Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 October from 9am to 3pm on the ground floor of the Basildon Centre, the Electoral Services team will be available to help people register to vote or to check whether they are on the Electoral Roll.

With local elections taking place next year including the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner elections on 7 May, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can take part.

Residents who have any questions can contact their local registration team at elections@basildon.gov.uk

You can also register to vote online at Register To Vote
