The Tenant and Leaseholder Panel enables tenant and leaseholder representatives to communicate their opinions to Basildon Council and provides a way for the Council to feed information back to residents.

Become a Tenant and Leaseholder Panel Representative

The first step towards becoming a member of the Tenant and Leaseholder Panel is to volunteer to become one of the following:

  • A Sheltered Housing Tenant Representative
  • A General Housing Tenant Representative
  • A Leaseholder Representative.

Only serving Tenant or Leaseholder Representatives will be considered for membership of the Tenant and Leaseholder Panel.

The Tenant and Leaseholder Panel has seven members, as follows:

  • 5 General Housing Tenant Representatives - one representative nominated from each of the following Core Groups:
    • Asset Strategy Core Group
    • Strategic Asset Management Contract Core Group
    • Aids, Adaptations and Voids Core Group
    • Cleaning core Group
    • Tenancy Services Core Group
  • 1 representative from the Sheltered Housing Focus Group
  • 1 representative from the Leaseholder Panel.

Tenant and Leaseholder Panel meetings

Tenant and Leaseholder Panel meetings are normally held in the St Georges Suite in Basildon Council's town centre offices in The Basildon Centre in St Martin's Square, Basildon.

Local residents and members of the general public are welcome to attend Tenant and Leaseholder Panel meetings as audience members, but may not take part in the proceedings.
