Extend your home by up to 8 metres without planning consent - new legislation:
On 30th. May 2013 the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development (Amendment) England) Order 2013 will allow, until 30th. May 2016, for a dwelling house (not on article 1(5) land nor on a site of special scientific interest), for the enlarged part of the dwelling house to have:
a single storey and:
- extend beyond the rear wall of the original dwelling house to a maximum of 8 metres in the case of a detached dwelling house, and up to 6 metres in the case of any other dwelling house
- the single storey rear extension cannot exceed 4 metres maximum height
- the eaves must not exceed 3 metres maximum height
- In order to apply for Prior Approval the new legislation requires the applicant to provide the Local Planning Authority with some mandatory information. New improved e-planning - search planning applications and appeals
We are pleased to announce that customers now have access to a brand new online e-planning system to search planning applications and appeals information.
The new e-Planning system has been designed to offer many more features. At the core of the new system will be user registration, enabling customers to set up pro-active, personal email notifications, based on the applications and locations they are interested in. Other significant features are better search options and improved accessibility.
The Core Strategy public consultation is now closed
Basildon Council is drawing up a plan to guide the development of the Borough for the next 20 years.
The big issues are: The balance between green belt and development; Economic growth and employment; and Town centre regeneration.
A consultation on the Core Strategy ran from 27 February 2012 - 5pm, 11 April 2012. Comments are now being processed and analysed.
