Safeguarding Policies - Children and Vulnerable Adults
Basildon Borough Council believes that all children and vulnerable adults in the Borough have the right to be safe from harm and deserve the opportunity to fulfil their full potential.
As such, the Council recognises the role and responsibilities it has in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, including the contribution it must make to working together with other agencies to ensure the well-being of the children and vulnerable people in the Basildon Borough.
Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children and Young People Policy
The policy applies to all staff, volunteer workers, our Members and organisations providing services under contract with Basildon Borough Council.
The new Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children and Young People Policy was agreed by Cabinet members on 10th November 2011.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy
The policy applies to all staff, volunteer workers, our Members and organisations providing services under contract with Basildon Borough Council.
The new Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy was agreed by Cabinet members on 31st May 2012.
