Basildon District Youth Council
The Basildon District Youth Council (BDYC) act as the voice of young people in Basildon and work to tackle the issues that matter to them most.
The BDYC meet fortnightly to discuss and tackle issues that affect young people living in the district. Members are between the ages of 11 - 19 years and are supported by Basildon Borough Council and Essex County Council.
The youth council identified three priorities following a conference with young people, these were: safety, anti-bullying and publicity. To date they have delivered a graffiti clean up project, given radio interviews, carried out an anti-bullying survey, attended team building training sessions and designed their own promotional material.
