The issue of gaming machine licences is now controlled by the Gambling Act 2005. Only premises licensed to sell alcohol or licensed as entertainment centres are permitted to have machines.

The holder of a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003, has an automatic entitlement to a maximum of 2 gaming machines (each of which may be category C or D) for use on the premises. The licence holder must notify the Licensing Authority and a notification fee of £50.00 is payable. There is no annual fee.

You can make a gaming machine notification by printing and completing the form under Related Downloads on this page and returning it to us at the above address. Alternatively, for a hard copy or if you need more information please contact us.
