Latest HELAA Report
The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires every Local Planning Authority to assess the amount of land that is available for housing and economic development in its area. This process is now known as the Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA). Previously it was referred to as the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).
The Council's latest publication is called the Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) Review Addendum 2021. The HELAA Review Addendum 2021 serves as an update to the HELAA Review 2020, solely considering sites that were submitted between 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021, and any updated sites. This Addendum does not reassess all the sites considered in the HELAA Review 2020. Therefore, the HELAA Addendum 2021 must be viewed in addition to the HELAA Review 2020.
