Basildon Council's Strategic Improvement Plan 2008/11 - Our vision - is to improve the quality of life for the people of the district, now and for future generations.

Basildon District Council's Strategic Improvement Plan 2008/11, is a three year rolling programme setting out how the Council will meet its vision to “improve the quality of life for the people of the District, now and for future generations”.

The Strategic Improvement Plan is a key document. It is the means by which the Council can be held to account for it's performance and service delivery in accordance with the priorities of the local community.

The Strategic Improvement Plan 2008/11 comprises the following 2 key elements:

1. The Strategic Plan
The Council Strategic Improvement Plan consists of our key aims and priorities and provides an overview of how we are going to meet the challenges that lie ahead. The aims and priorities set out have been reached in consultation with local people and partner agencies.

2. The Performance Indicators
The table reports our progress against our key performance indicators and sets out our future targets.

Strategic Actions and Performance Indicators are monitored and reported in the Council's quarterly performance reports, which bring together key headline information into a single document that provides a picture of how the Council has performed over a 3 month period.
