Getting Around the District


Whatever your chosen form of travel, getting around the Basildon District couldn't be simpler.

The District is well served with public transport, good roads and footpaths

Buses
Basildon Town Centre Bus Station, Southernhay External Site Icon is the hub for most bus routes, with many routes starting, finishing or passing through.

Three bus companies operate in the district Arriva, External Site Icon First Group External Site Icon and NIBS External Site Icon and their websites give full details of routes and timetables.


Trains
There are also two railway lines that run through the District!

Find the location of the Basildon District Council Car Parks or if you are planning to come into the Town Centre, which of the Car Parks (Basildon Council and Euro Car Parks) to park in.

By Foot
Countryside Walks - The Basildon District has a large network of walks that link open spaces and country parks to the local housing areas. What better way to spend a crisp winter morning or warm sunny afternoon than a stroll around either Ramsden Crays Circular Walk or Crays Hill Circular Walk, or maybe Little Bursted or North Benfleet or you could do all four!

Cycling
There are over 30 kilometres of shared and segregated cycle track in the Basildon District, with plans to extend the network. A cycle route can be a mixture of dedicated cycle tracks, shared or segregated pedestrian path and quieter roads. Together these are signed to produce routes which link popular destinations with residential areas.
