Basildon Council's Parks and Streetcare teams undertake the following responsibilities for the above war memorials:
- Plant bedding twice per year around memorials with a bedding area, i.e. Billericay high street.
- Cut any grass as necessary.
- Undertake a weekly litter pick of the sites.
- Undertake a twice yearly pressure wash of the stonework, if thought necessary.
- Repair any damage to the area and report any damage to the stonework to depot managers.
For Remembrance Sunday:
- Supply and place two tubs of White Chrysanthemums on each site, Billericay, Little Burstead, Wickford and Pitsea.
After Remembrance Sunday:
- Collect all dead wreathes etc. a few weeks after Remembrance Sunday.
The following War memorials are not attended to by Basildon Council:
- Vange, outside St Chads church, Clayhill Road.
- Laindon, on the High Road
