Introduction
The purpose of the Building Control Service provided by Basildon District Council is to enable businesses, home owners, designers and builders to comply with the statutory Building Regulations.
Building Regulations exist to ensure the health and safety of people in and around all types of buildings (i.e. domestic, commercial and industrial).They also provide for energy conservation, and for access and facilities for disabled people.
It is our aim too make the process of complying with Building Regulations as easy and straight forward as possible.
The Building Control section employs six qualified Building Control Surveyors to serve the District's three towns, Basildon New Town, Billericay & Wickford.
The Section has BSI accreditation ensuring Quality Control and is committed to a process of continual improvement of it's services to the public. (view Performance Indicators)
