Meals on Wheels Service

Meals on wheels are provided to support vulnerable people in living in their own home.

The meals service is available to people who are housebound and unable to prepare there own meals, following an assessment of their circumstances.

The meals service can offer a 7-day a week service, with a menu offering a choice of 4 different meals per day plus a choice of 3 desserts per day at a cost of Ł2.30 per meal.

Menus include dietary, ethnic and cultural meals. If preferred, frozen meals may be provided.

Requesting the Meals on Wheels Service

The service is for people over the age of 18 years and over who have needs, whereby the risks to their independence are critical or substantial.

To request the Meals on Wheels service you must get in touch with your local County Council Social Services office who will make an assessment of your circumstances and decide on your eligibility.
