Basildon Council's new Gambling Licensing Policy Statement
The Gambling Act 2005 has changed the way in which gambling activity is to be licensed in our District. | |

| Local Gambling Licence Authorities from 1st Sept 2007. |
From 1st September 2007, in order for gambling activity to take place in any public premises within the Basildon District, the following licences will be required:

- A Personal Licence
- An Operating Licence
- A Premises Licence

The Gambling Commission will be the authority responsible for the issue of:
- Personal Licences
- Operating Licences
- Codes of Practice
The Gambling Commission will also investigate illegal gambling. |  | Basildon Council will be the authority responsible for approving or rejecting applications for Premises Licences in respect of:
- Betting Offices
- Race Tracks
- Casinos
- Bingo Halls
- Adult Gaming Centres
- Family Entertainment Centres.
Basildon Council will also be responsible for the issue of permits for gaming machines in Members’ Clubs and Licensed Premises. |
