If you wish to report having lost property in a Taxi or Private Hire Vehicle you can do so right now, just complete our

to inform the Licensing Office who will investigate.

Lost Property Information.

At the end of every journey the driver of a licensed vehicle should search his car to make sure the passenger has left nothing behind.

If property is found the driver should take it to the Council Offices within 72 hours where it will be held by the Licensing Office.

If it is not claimed at the end of three months it will be returned to the driver who found it.

If you have lost property in a taxi or private hire vehicle you should contact the Licensing Office by telephone during office hours or Email at other times.

Alternatively you can complete and return the Lost Property Form to us.

Should your property be handed in to the Council, you will be notified.

The loser is liable to pay 5% of the value of the property or the fare for the driver’s journey to the offices; whichever is the greater.
