We're changing...There's a whole new customer service experience at the Council's town centre office reception on the ground floor of The Basildon Centre.

New customer service centre for the Council

Phase 1 refurbishment work complete - new Basildon Centre ground floor Customer Service Centre now fully operational.



As of Monday 31 March 2008, phase 1 of the refurbishment works to the new Customer Services Centre has been successfully completed.

The new giant revolving front door entrance to the Basildon Centre is now working and provides the main access to the building.

Wheelchair access is either via the giant revolving door or via the adjacent sliding door, which is operated by a push button.

A new Customer Services desk which incorporates Planning Enquiries and Cashiers is now open for business.

Customer Services Advisors will be happy to direct you to the area you want.

For your convenience, the new Customer Services Centre brings together our most popular services so that they will be easier to find, easier to use, and improve the way we do things.

The new ground floor the new Customer Services Centre layout includes:-
  • A new cashiers service situated on the left side of the ground floor
  • A new general reception area in the centre of the floor
  • A comfortable waiting area
  • Private booths for confidential discussions
  • An information and advice centre
  • An improved queuing system that will cut waiting times
  • More computer kiosks to tell you about our services.


Phase 2 due for completion in May 2008

Phase 2 of the refurbishment works are due to be completed in May 2008 and will include further service desks and private interview rooms.

Until the Phase 2 works have been completed the Disablement Information and Advice Line (DIAL) office will temporarily be located behind the new reception on the ground floor.

Once Phase 2 is complete, DIAL will move to their new ground floor offices which are now being prepared.
