How to Register to vote
If you are eligible to vote and have completed the registration form delivered to your home last autumn, you should be on the electoral register
|
 |
You can only vote in elections if your name appears in the register of electors.
You must apply to be included in the register. Do not assume your name will automatically appear on the register because you pay Council Tax. So long as you are you are eligible you can register to vote at any time of the year. |
You can and should register to vote if:
- you're eligible to vote but not already registered - Check eligibility, see who can vote?
- you have previously been registered but have changed address
- you have previously been registered but your name has changed.
There are special registration forms for British citizens living overseas, members of HM Forces, Crown Servants and persons with no fixed address - for more information contact the electoral registration office on 01268 294352 or visit AboutMyVote.com
