DIAL is a locally based independent charity covering the South of Essex and has been quality marked by the Community Legal Services for general help with case work in disability issues. Dial have also gained levels 1 and 2 of PQASSO and the Investor in people award. They provide free, impartial, independent advice to anybody with a problem related to disability.
| Service | |
DIAL is open 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday. The volunteers are either disabled or in close contact with disability, so understand exactly how it can feel to be told that you have a disabling condition and not to be given the information you need to lead a fulfilling life.
DIAL can help by advising people of their correct benefit entitlements, specialised holidays, clubs, employment issues, equipment, etc and the services available from statutory agencies such as the NHS and Social Care Services. They can also offer practical help with form completion, if needed by appointment.
Advice sessions are held in Basildon Hospital and The Beehive in Grays, these operate alongside the main D.I.A.L. office in Basildon. Please ring 0845 450 3001/2 for exact details of opening days and times for advice sessions in each location.
If you have a few hours to spare each week, why not become a volunteer, and improve the quality of life of the people that you help as well as your own.
